Bethel Church has historically had a great emphasis on mission work, taking very seriously Jesus' words in the "Great Commission" of Matthew 28:19-20: "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." To that end, Bethel Church has and continues to encourage involvement with and in various mission activities which encourage the spreading of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. While we also participate in short term mission trips, we also monetarily support mission work both locally and abroad. We ask that our congregation continue to pray also for the mission workers listed here, as well as for all who take the Gospel message to the ends of the earth. Here are a list of those we support financially and with whom we communicate, with links to their websites (if available).
Our Mission Advocates are very important people both to the missionaries and to our congregation. They are in contact and communicate with Bethel's missionaries around the world and keep our congregation updated with their missions. Thank you to our Mission Advocates. Committee Directed - when Bethel's budget is finalized in October, it budgets money for the mission work we are aware of at the time. Often, we are later made aware of something needing funds, usually on a one-time basis. This is also how any extra money from the mission fund is allotted and used. Sending Budget - this is a relatively new addition to the mission budget. In an attempt to encourage our congregation to do mission trips when the opportunity arises, we have set aside funds to use to help with the expenses of these trips. |
